Week Two Tight Ends | NFL Fan Poll

Week Two Tight Ends

Updated: September 15, 2012

A couple of weeks ago you read here on NFLFanpoll  that the Tight End position might be the new go-to position in fantasy. After the first week of action the plethora of talented tight ends delivered fairly consistently for their owners. We are going to take a look at how they ranked after the first week and look at news and expectations for weeks to come.

No big surprise on top as Jimmy Graham produced fourteen points in a losing effort. Graham wasn’t ranked number one on every list but there really is no reason to argue that he is as number one as anyone else. Rob Gronkowski was thought by some to possibly wind up a victim of the rise of the other tight end that Tom Brady throws to, Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez pulled in eleven fantasy points while Gronk bested him by one. It seems that either New England TE is a great starting choice.  Vernon Davis brought in ten points as well proving that there are plenty of TE fantasy points to be found.

This week projections are even better than last week. Jimmy Graham is expected to improve on his performance as is Gronkowski. Tony Gonzalez surprised with eleven points in week one but is expected to have a tougher time against KC in week two. Antonio Gates is expected to have a great day as well considering the Chargers are facing the Raiders. I think both elder statesmen will have a very good showing but will still fall well short of the big name younger guys in Graham, Davis, Gronk and even Hernandez.
