With the regular season only a couple days away, it’s time to quickly review the preseason games that have taken place the last few weeks of summer. Did anyone stand out to you? Any rookies look promising? Let’s take a look!

NFC East

  • The Eagles, with a 4-0 preseason record, seems to make fans feel more optimistic. Though Vick had a few minor injuries, the way he works with the team looks like they’re headed in the right direction.
  • Super Bowl champions, New York Giants, weren’t that strong in the preseason – will that affect whether they make it to the playoffs?

NFC North

  • The Green Bay Packers look solid – Graham Harrell was impressive in the week four game tossing for 223 yards, and two touchdowns on 13 of 15 passing.
  • Lions look pretty good, too – Mikel Leshoure performed well as a running back, but he’ll be sitting out the first two games for a substance abuse violation.
  • With Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall back together, the Bears could have a chance this season thanks to the offense.

NFC South

  • The bounty scandal is still affecting New Orleans, so a lot of pressure is sitting on Drew Brees at the start of the season.
  • Falcons had a 1-3 record in the preseason, leading many to think the regular season will be “uninspired”.

NFC West

  • The 49ers did better than many thought they’d do last season, do you think they can go further in the playoffs this year?
  • John Skelton is the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, fans are hoping they won’t go the same direction as they did in the preseason with a 1-4 record.

AFC East

  • Most of the attention on the Jets has been focused on Tebow and Sanchez, but will it get worse if the Jets don’t do so well after the season starts?
  • Dolphins and Bills were both winless in the preseason, but the rookie starter for the Dolphins, Ryan Tannehill offers hope to the franchise.

AFC North

  • Steelers had three straight wins in the preseason, but will Big Ben be ready to go? Steelers fans hope so!
  • On the Cleveland Browns, Colt McCoy will be the backup for rookie Brandon Weeden, since the team cut Seneca Wallace.

AFC South

  • Andrew Luck was one of the most talked about players and looks to be a good fit for the Colts.

AFC West

  • Peyton’s debut in Denver wasn’t as impressive as fans hoped, but his preseason stats usually aren’t stellar – could he take Denver to the Super Bowl?
