Finally! After weeks of holding out for contract renegotiations and swapping public comments, it appears Maurice Jones-Drew ended his holdout after 38 days, according to ESPN. While he didn’t end up getting what he wanted, he says he has no regrets or concerns regarding his team.

“I’m in a good place,” Jones-Drew said. “I did something I felt was right, and I’m always going to feel right. I’m not going to feel wrong for what I did it at all. And that’s why I can come back and not have a negative attitude. I think if you regret things, you’re going to come back salty, be a distraction, things like that.

“I don’t feel that way ’cause what I did was right. No one can tell me it was wrong. Not one person here can tell me what I did was wrong.”

Sunday morning, MJD arrived at the team facility and spoke with Mike Mularkey. When he finally spoke to reporters, it was clear he didn’t want to talk about the holdout any longer after today. “This is the last talk about the whole contract situation,” Jones-Drew said. “We’re going to move forward to football after this.”

He says he was considering taking the holdout further into the season, to the point of missing games and paychecks. “It really wasn’t about budging,” he said. “For me, it got to the point where I wasn’t going to be traded. Obviously, they weren’t going to pay me. I could have easily sat out until Week 10, come back and been a distraction. It wasn’t about that. I’m not going to come back and distract guys from playing the game the right way.”

Now that he’s decided to continue with the team, do you think he will do great on the field considering he missed the entire off season? Let’s hear it!
