As we get closer to the end of the second regular season practice week there are several bits of player news worthy of fantasy owners attention. After missing Wednesday’s practice Marshawn Lynch participated fully on Thursday. His back remains a mild concern and something to watch. Still word is he should be able to perform regularly on Sunday. Greg Jennings for Green Bay missed the game against the Bears with a sore groin. It’s a good thing Jennings has extra time to rest because troubled groins tend to be trouble for a while. Also from the Thursday game came the ankle injury to Matt Forte. It was rolled over pretty painfully so like Jennings, his fantasy owners are thankful for the long week before week three.

Antonio Gates is still playing it safe with his rib injury. Its unclear at this point if they are just playing things safe or if the injury is game-threatening for Gates. His participation in the Friday practice is what his owners will pay closer attention to. Austin Collie is another one to watch closely on Friday. The Colts have rested him some this week with his concussion troubles but he seems like he will be ready to start on Sunday. Still with a concussion you never know the effect on Sunday. Keep a close eye out.

Pierre Garcon worked a very limited practice on Thursday for the Redskins. If he is unable to play on Sunday that will have a big effect not only on his fantasy owners but also on those starting Robert Griffin III. RG3 was clearly targeting him and he had the huge play for a TD as well. Without Garcon RG3 might suffer a more standard rookie QB outing. Calvin Johnson is already on the injury report this year for the Lions but with a full practice Thursday, he appears to be ready to put up big numbers as usual for his fantasy peeps. The Panthers stopped Steve Smith from practicing Thursday when his knee grew sore. All reports are that he will play regularly on Sunday against the Saints however. Those fantasy owners who love to own Smith should hope he stays healthy as he seems to always play well against the Saints.
